چکیده

Primary effusion lymphoma (PEL) is a large B-cell that only proliferates proliferating in the body cavity. It associated with human herpesvirus 8 (HHV8).HHV8 negative lymphoma, which different from PEL many ways, has also been reported and referred to as HHV8-unrelated PEL-like lymphoma. This very rare its clinical characteristics have not fully clarified.A 79-year-old male developed HHV8-negative primary during treatment for myelodysplastic syndrome.Abdominal computed tomography revealed abdominal effusion, but did show any evidence of tumor mass or lymph node enlargement. A cytological analysis his pleural atypical lymphoid cells were CD10, positive CD19 CD20. Corticosteroids administered treat effusion; however, patient died an exacerbation on 20th day after initiation corticosteroid therapy. We herein report case HIV seronegative elderly

RATIONALE Primary effusion lymphoma (PEL) is a rare disease of lymphomatous effusion in the body cavities in the absence of detectable mass and lymphadenopathy. PEL is predominantly related to the immunosuppressed patients infected with human herpes virus 8 (HHV-8). PEL-like lymphoma is negative for HHV-8 and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) unlike PEL. The pathogenesis and prognosis of PEL-l...

Primary effusion lymphoma (PEL) is a rare type of lymphoma that arises in the body cavity without detectable masses. It is associated with human herpes virus-8 (HHV-8), Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Recently, PEL unrelated to viral infection has been reported and it has been termed HHV-8 unrelated primary effusion lymphoma-like lymphoma (HHV-8 unrelated PEL-l...

Human herpes virus 8-unrelated primary effusion lymphoma (PEL)-like lymphoma is a rare type of large B cell lymphoma. This report presents the case of a male with abdominal pain and distension who was found to have massive ascites and enhanced peritoneum, mesenterium and greater omentum on enhanced computer tomography (CT) scan with negative ascitic cytology. The diagnosis of PEL-like lymphoma ...

Human Herpesvirus 8–Unrelated Primary Effusion Lymphoma–Like Lymphoma in an Elderly Korean Patient with a Good Response to Rituximab Plus Cyclophosphamide, Doxorubicin, Vincristine, and Prednisolone

Primary effusion lymphoma (PEL) is a rare type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma arising from a B-cell lineage characterized by the formation of malignant effusion in body cavities without evidence of a detectable tumor. The effusion contains tumor cells universally infected with human herpesvirus 8 (HHV8), which is the critical factor differentiating PEL from HHV8-unrelated PEL-like lymphoma (PEL-LL)....

Expression profile of human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) in pyothorax associated lymphoma and in effusion lymphoma.

AIMS Pyothorax associated lymphoma (PAL) occurs in a clinical setting of longstanding pyothorax or chronic inflammation of the pleura. Like primary effusion lymphoma, it has an association with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), and is confined to the pleural cavity, but has differing morphological and phenotypic features. Human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) has been consistently reported in primary effusion ly...
